April has been with ABQ Childcare for nearly 25 years, contributing in various capacities across multiple locations. She is a valuable asset when it comes to state and accrediting regulations and policies, helping ensure consistency and compliance throughout the organization. April has earned her associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and continues to participate in ongoing training to ensure her center and staff remain up to date with current requirements.

Victoria began her career as a Pre-K teacher, where her knowledge and dedication to her classroom and students quickly stood out. Her commitment to her own education became a valuable asset as she advanced into the Assistant Director role, where she now supports and encourages staff to pursue higher education. Victoria is set to graduate soon with her master's degree, further strengthening her leadership and impact.

For parents who commute across the city, ChildCo's central position means drop-off and pickup fit naturally into the daily routine. The center draws families from the Bel-Air, Hodgin, Altura Park, and Governor Bent neighborhoods, as well as parents working along the I-25 corridor.
ChildCo stands out for its nature-inspired play spaces that encourage children to explore the natural world through hands-on activities. The outdoor areas include natural elements designed to spark curiosity, from sensory gardens to open-air learning stations. These spaces reflect ABQ Childcare's belief that children learn best through play and direct experience with their environment.
Director April Vargas has been with ABQ Childcare for nearly 20 years. She holds an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and has built a team that prioritizes individualized attention for every child. Assistant Director Victoria Bachicha holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and is pursuing her Master's degree, bringing current research and best practices into the classrooms every day.
ChildCo provides van transportation to and from the following elementary schools every school day:
ChildCo Day School is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, year round. We are closed on weekends and major holidays.
ChildCo accepts children from 6 weeks through 12 years old. Programs include Infants (6 weeks to 12 months), Toddlers (1 to 3 years), Early Pre-K (3 to 4 years), Pre-K (4 to 5 years), and School Age before-and-after-school care (5 to 12 years).
Yes. ChildCo operates van transportation to four elementary schools: Zuni, Bel-Air, Governor Bent, and Hodgin. Drivers pick up students after school and drop off before school each weekday.
